On Saturday, we were present to document the wedding of Lisa and Devon at St. Joseph’s church in Middletown, NY.
When the bride first starts down the aisle, I usually get the very emotional shot of the groom seeing her for the first time. Well Devon, an Airman, didn’t want to watch his bride at first for fear of breaking down so he stared over at the bridesmaids while Lisa was coming down the aisle! It’s a good thing that he looked away because she was breathtaking and he certainly would have shed a tear or two!
After the ceremony, we were off to the beautiful Patriot Hills Golf Club for the reception where the fantastic and energetic Vargas brothers DJ’s whipped the crowd into a frenzied party mode! The crowd was so into the party that one guest actually grabbed me and pulled me onto the dance floor!
Lisa and Devon tuned the crowd out completely during their first dance as if they were the only ones in the room. They are a beautiful couple who had to wait for Devon to return from Iraq to get married and are completely a perfect match!
The most emotional moment of the night was when the DJ played “American Soldier” and the groom and two other ushers who are also soldiers, danced around the floor with their wives, and the rest of the crowd circled them and applauded. Truly makes you proud to be an American!
Congratulations and much happiness to the new Mr. and Mrs. Devon Destefano!
